At Bátor Tábor, in the ‘camp of courage’ we change lives. Since 2001 Bátor Tábor is dedicated to provide life-changing experiences to seriously ill children and their families, and also to those families who have suffered the loss of a child. We bring laughter and joy to the hospital beds and through our online programs within the walls of the children’s home with the purpose to give strength and courage in difficult situations through play and fun. In our School Outreach Program we strengthen the community in those classrooms where a child with serious or chronic desase attends to.
As the therapeutic recreation center of the Central European region, we run programs in Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Czechia. To international camp sessions in Hungary, we welcome campers and volunteers from Slovakia and Czechia.
We believe that the sun always shines above the clouds.
We offer all kinds of challenges to our participants, thus providing them to experience a sense of success and to gain self-confidence.
Our own camp site in Hatvan, Hungary can accommodate 246 people.
In all our programs, the physical and mental safety of the participants is our top priority.
We provide full medical and nursing care in the camp.
As the therapeutic recreation center of the
CEU region we create life-changing experiences in 4 countries: Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
We are a member of the SeriousFun Children’s Network camp association, founded by Paul Newman in 1988.
You are important to us, no matter how you connect with us. Whether you are a child, a parent, a volunteer, a supporter or a colleague, your well-being is essential. We believe in teamwork and in the power of community, therefore your contribution to our mission is also important. We value diversity. Tolerance and acceptance are key in our work.
Our operations, work processes, and financial activities are transparent and ethical. We communicate in a transparent manner, clearly, honestly and straightly to both external partners and within the organization.
For us, our mission is important, and we always operate independently from everyday politics. We only accept donations from sources which are consistent with our values.
We urge to operate and nurture our business relationships in the most professional way. We develop constantly, and develop our colleagues and volunteers as well. We are open to new ideas and consciously try to find innovative solutions. We dare to make mistakes and learn from them.
We look at the bright side of life. Our messages are positive, and we are optimistic about the future. We focus on solutions and opportunities instead of problems. We believe that good is contagious, and spreads rapidly.
Trust is valuable. Families, supporters, and volunteers trust us; we highly appreciate and take good care of it. In our work, we turn to each other with mutual trust. We perform our tasks, commitments in a reliable manner, and we can rely on each other.
The short- and long-term effects of our methodology are also confirmed by research.
